'Mr Edward & Ms Josephine are experienced in union representative work and responding to appeal cases regarding the Administrative and Employment Act.’ - Client testimonial in Legal 500 – 2022.

Edward is a graduate of Monash University, Melbourne and holds a double degree in Economics and Law. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in October 1997 and has been a partner of the firm since November 2011. Having specialized in the field of Industrial Relations and Employment Law since the start of his career, he has established himself as a prominent figure in his field. Edward appears regularly for both employers and employees before the Industrial Court of Malaysia. This has given him the benefit of conducting trials and arguing cases on both sides of the divide. He also has with him considerable experience in handling judicial review applications and appeals therefrom in the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Federal Court. Whilst Industrial Relations and Employment Law remains his forte, Edward has extensive experience in handling civil and commercial cases involving supply contracts, landlord and tenant disputes and construction disputes.

For his contributions, Edward has been named as a recommended lawyer for Industrial Relations by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, a respected legal directory. He has spoken at conferences and seminars organized by LexisNexis®, a leading global provider of legal content and workflow solutions and is a contributor to their Employment Law Practice series. Edward has delivered numerous presentations on crucial Employment Law issues, including Retrenchments, Constructive Dismissals, Restrictive Covenants in Employment Contracts, and the impact of the internet and social media in the workplace. More recently Edward had presented a paper on the enhanced coverage of the recently amended Employment Act 1955 at the MECA Industrial Relations Convention 2023.

Beyond his professional credentials, Edward maintains a well-rounded lifestyle. When he is not immersed in legal matters, he can often be found on the golfing green or on the tennis court, indulging in his passion for both sports.
