Pearly joined Josephine, LK Chow & Co. in December 2016 as a pupil-in-chambers. She is currently an Associate with the firm’s Kuala Lumpur Office, assisting and supporting the Managing Partner on a wide range of legal matters.
Pearly is a well-rounded and versatile legal professional. She advises clients on various civil, commercial and contractual disputes, in particular those relating to debt recovery as well as non-contentious succession and real estate matters. Pearly supports the Managing Partner and the other lawyers at the Kuala Lumpur Office in the drafting of legal documents as well as carrying out legal research covering a wide array of topics, including the preparation of litigation cause papers as well as handling conveyancing, commercial and corporate agreements (such as shareholder and joint venture agreements).
Pearly is also involved in Construction Law matters (an area that the firm has rich experience with) and keeps abreast of the latest developments in this practice area, with a particular interest in Adjudication Proceedings. Pearly has personally conducted interlocutory hearings and has assisted the Partners of the Firm in complex hearings, trials and appeals at all stages of the Malaysian Courts.
Pearly graduated from the University of London in 2015 with a Bachelor-of-Laws Honours degree. She completed her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2016 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2017.
When not at work, Pearly enjoys long-distance running and has participated in numerous half-marathon events in Malaysia.
