Cyndi Chow Li Kian

Cyndi is the co-founding partner of Josephine, LK Chow & Co. She has been named as a recommended lawyer for Dispute Resolution by The Legal 500. As a seasoned specialist in Family Law, she has personally acted for clients in many contentious cases relating to family disputes, divorce and matrimonial matters involving the maintenance of spouses, and the care and welfare of children. She helps clients achieve their desired outcomes whilst protecting their best interests.

Cyndi heads the litigation practice of the firm and is experienced in litigating at all levels of the Malaysian Courts. Determined and tenacious, she is a formidable ally who does not flinch from a tough fight. Cyndi has handled a wide variety of Dispute Resolution related clients and cases for the firm, from Intellectual Property (IP), defamation, commercial and contractual disputes to contested probates and administration of estates.

Cyndi has a special interest in the judicial enforcement of Intellectual Property rights and has acted in numerous related cases in the High Court and Appellate Courts. In addition, she regularly advises Joint Management Bodies and Management Corporations on their Management of Strata Titled Properties. For these matters, Cyndi draws useful insights from her previous capacity as the former Chairperson of a Management Corporation.

Cyndi graduated from the University of London. In January 1999, she was admitted to the Malaysian Bar, where she is currently also a Civil Advocacy Trainer. Cyndi believes in sharing her rich work-related experiences and does this by contributing to the ongoing efforts of the Malaysian Bar to improve the standards of advocacy amongst young lawyers today.

Outside the courtroom, Cyndi is an avid traveller who loves to put her photography skills into practice in different settings. She runs regularly and participates in long distance running events when time permits. Cyndi also enjoys spending time in the kitchen at home, cooking for her family.
